Part time or job share opportunities considered.

You will be required to provide support to members through the administration and servicing of the council’s statutory committees, full council meetings and informal working groups, as well as advising members and officers on procedures relating to meetings of the councils' committees, informal working groups and other bodies in order to ensure effective and efficient decision making.

You will be responsible for the preparation of agendas and minutes to ensure a robust decision making process is undertaken, with a requirement to work evenings as and when necessary.

You will have experience of working in a committee administration role, along with knowledge of constitutional and legal procedures within a local authority environment. The ability to work pro-actively within differing political cultures is also a must. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to produce high-quality minutes is essential.

Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are committed to agile and flexible working practices (subject to business need). We believe that work is something we do and not somewhere we go; we want our staff to feel enabled and empowered to fully embrace these opportunities. Based at our modern and conveniently located office accommodation, we can offer great opportunities for training and development and we will give you all the support you need. We offer flexible working options, a generous leave entitlement, access to the Suffolk Green Travel Plan, discount scheme and a pension scheme.
