Are you looking for a fresh start in 2021? Would you like to gain valuable work experience at the same time as studying for an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Business Administration?

We are looking for an outstanding person to join our team in Building Services as an Apprentice. You will need to be enthusiastic, motivated, keen to learn, share our values and possess the drive and ambition to succeed.

This role will provide an invaluable insight into working in Business administration within Local Government. Candidates should be confident with good communication and IT skills. You should have a strong commitment to develop your potential by combining practical work experience and study, to achieve an NVQ Level 2 or 3 Business Administration qualification.

The role will require a variety of administration tasks, including use of bespoke Housing and Financial systems.  You will be required to administer many different processes within the team including the out of hours repairs calls and emails, raising purchase orders, job raising, Excel & Word documents together with importing data from our external customers. You will also have regular contact with other team members from the wider Building Services Team together with external contractors and tenants. You will become an integral part of the team whilst being given full support from the team and the team manager.  Time will be allocated to you each week to complete your NVQ work.

Driving licence is not essential but would be an advantage.

*This role will be based from our newly refurbished Wenham Depot and working from home.  However, during the COVID 19 pandemic, we have been working from home and it has worked really well for us.

We are committed to agile and flexible working (subject to business need), with full time, part time or job share opportunities considered.  Supporting equality and diversity, Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils provide opportunity and ambition for all, enabling and empowering our people to deliver the best possible results for our residents.
