Fixed term for up to 3 years (funding), with a possible extension based on performance and funding.

Based at OrbisEnergy, Wilde Street, Lowestoft NR32 1XH.

Energy is recognised as a key growth opportunity for Suffolk, Norfolk and the wider region. Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth are internationally recognised centres for offshore renewable energy with significant oil, gas and nuclear assets along our coastline.

We are looking for a professional with extensive experience of the energy sector to:

  • act as a regional champion for the offshore renewables and wider energy sector
  • drive OrbisEnergy as a technology and innovation cluster for the region’s energy sector and the all energy business hub for the East of England
  • provide leadership to the East of England Energy Zone (EEEZ) partnership to ensure we maximise the impact of the growing regional energy cluster.

Reporting to the Head of Economic Development, you will be part of the Suffolk County Council Economic Development team and you will lead a small multi-partner team tasked with growing the energy cluster.

This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role you will need to operate across a wide and rural area and includes overseas travel, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.

For an informal discussion only, please contact Jai Raithatha on (01473) 264819.

Please read the Job and Person Profile before applying for this job.

Interview date: w/c 6 January 2020.

This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
