East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.
This new role will focus on transforming and enhancing ASB practice across the district. You will play a key part in the reduction of crime and ASB through partnership working and the development and implementation of relevant strategies and strengthening the link between the Community Safety Partnership and the ASB network within Suffolk.
You will lead the development, effective implementation, promotion and monitoring of the ASB Unit and enable information sharing between partners. You will also assist in the development of colleagues in the team to feel confident in responding to ASB complaints in a pro-active and solution focussed way, ensuring that the victim and their views remain central to our approach.
Applicants must have a thorough working knowledge of relevant current legislation including the application of tools and enforcement powers, extensive previous experience of responding to ASB complaints, an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of partners and a track record of successful outcomes for victims of crime. Educated to degree level or with equivalent extensive experience and/or an appropriate professional qualification you will also possess excellent communication skills, strong negotiation and liaison skills and be able to work at pace to deliver agreed objectives.
In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development and we’ll give you all the support we can to build a great career with our organisation. There’s also a superb benefits package, including flexible working options and purpose-built, brand new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.
Due to the current situation with Covid-19, the majority of our teams are working from home and there are strict social distancing measures in place for the limited number of staff working from our offices. If you wish to discuss how that might impact your working arrangements if you were the successful candidate, please contact the recruiting manager listed at the bottom of this advert.
