Based at either East Suffolk House, Melton or Marina Centre, Lowestoft (dependent on your preference). You may be required to work at other sites within the partnership area.
The Anglia Revenues Partnership is a group of seven Local Authorities working together to provide a shared Revenues and Benefits Service to the residents of Breckland Council, East Cambridgeshire District Council, Forest Heath District Council, St Edmundsbury Borough Council, Fenland District Council, Suffolk Coastal District Council and Waveney District Council.
We are seeking a well-organised, self-motivated and flexible candidate to be part of our excellent Revenues Team. The role will suit someone who has a track record of successfully rising to the challenge, inspiring others and delivering results.
You will assist with the supervision and organisation of the work of the Revenues Team, dealing with Council Tax billing, recovery and Housing Benefit overpayments including representing the councils at Court Hearings and Valuation Tribunals.
In addition to this, you will assist the Team Manager to agree targets, objectives, timetables and maintain an up-to-date knowledge and application of relevant practices, legislation, regulations and policies within the Partnership.
You will have a good standard of general education with a minimum of 5 GCSE passes, including mathematics and English.
You will have at least two years’ experience of administering Council Tax or Non-Domestic rates, a good standard of education, possess an up-to-date knowledge of legislation relating to Local Government Revenues collection and recovery and preferably experience of presenting cases in Court or at Valuation Tribunal hearings.
You should also have proven IT skills and you must be willing to use new information technology. The ability to work under pressure is an essential requirement.
