Are you a Health and Safety Officer currently seeking a new challenge in an exciting and dynamic organisation? If so, we may have an opportunity for you.

Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils are seeking an enthusiastic individual with recognised health and safety qualifications, some knowledge of building maintenance and a full UK driving licence to join our Housing Service.

Working closely with managers, supervisors and operatives, you will promote a safe working environment, educate via “toolbox talks” and advise the organisation on changes to legislation and areas of best practice.

You will be expected to be familiar with CDM, undertake risk assessments, draft method statements, monitor compliance on site for all our building maintenance activities and be responsible for investigating and reporting work related incidents.

You will be an integral part of the council’s Corporate Health and Safety Team, whilst also working on a day-to-day basis in the Tenancy Services Team, so it is essential that you are a good team player.

So, what can we offer you?

As well as good opportunities for development, there is also a superb benefits package including flexible working options, as well as a generous leave entitlement, high street discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.

Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils are committed to improving the quality of life for everyone living in, working in and visiting east Suffolk. Already a progressive, successful partnership, we are in the process of combining our two authorities to create the largest district council in the country, delivering vital services to those who need them most.

With all this happening, we hope you will agree that it would be a truly exciting time to join our organisation.

* plus an essential car user allowance (£963 pa).
