Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils are committed to improving the quality of life for everyone living in, working in and visiting east Suffolk. Already a progressive and successful partnership, we are in the process of combining our two authorities to create the largest District Council in the country, delivering vital services to those who need them most.

Our councils are an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives.

You will provide second and third line technical support to critical council IT systems within the Business Solutions Team. This includes detailed technical investigation and analysis to resolve incidents, ensuring disruption to services is kept to a minimum.

Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are vital whilst working closely with fellow team members, business leads, system suppliers and colleagues in the wider ICT team.

A methodical approach to technical development and the ability to demonstrate excellent system interface support to ensure business systems are performing efficiently and effectively is a crucial part of the role.

Preparing and maintaining technical documentation and acting upon technical requirements when performing upgrades or assisting in the implementation of new systems is an expected function of this role - this can often be contributing as part of a project team lead by a Project Manager.

HND qualified (or equivalent) is preferred, however technical experience of administering business systems and understanding information management techniques is essential including knowledge of using MS SQL server. You will have a passion to provide excellent service and an ability to meet interesting and varied challenges with confidence.

In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development. We want you to stay with us for the long term, so we will give you all the support we can to build a great career with our organisation. There is also a superb benefits package including flexible working options and purpose built brand new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.
