Primarily based at Ipswich Borough Council offices, although you may work from our Lowestoft or Melton offices.

A fantastic and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to take on this challenging role as part of the new Ipswich and East Suffolk Building Control Partnership.

You will have direct responsibility for the day-to-day management of a team of building control professionals, with a focus on the Ipswich area.

Our aim is to deliver a high quality building control and enforcement function and you will provide direction and support to the wider Building Control Team in the implementation of legislative changes, as well as being a professional adviser on all building control matters.

It is essential that you are a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or Association of Building Engineers, as well as having considerable post qualification experience of working in a building control area.

In return, we can offer excellent opportunities for you and to develop your team with training and development. We want you to stay with us for the long-term, so we will provide you with all the support we can to build a great career with our organisations. There is also a superb benefits package, including flexible and home working options as well as a generous leave entitlement and pension scheme.

*plus essential car user allowance.
