A unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our Development Management Planning Support team. This apprenticeship opportunity could be your ideal first step on the career ladder in the Planning or Building Control field.
The Planning Support team provide administrative support to Planning Service area. These teams are responsible for setting out the vision and framework for the future development of an area (i.e. housing development and retail parks) and making decisions on planning applications that are made.
You will be responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the Planning & Building Control Teams. This will include processing planning and building regulation applications using the Council’s computer systems, answering the telephone, filing, scanning and preparation of mail shots. You may also get the opportunity to spend time with officers within the service area to look at the more technical side of the team’s work.
You will have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) with good communication and IT skills and high standards of numeracy and accuracy. No experience is necessary as full training will be provided.

- 13th May 2019, 5pm – 6.30pm at the Riverside Offices (4 Canning Road, Lowestoft, NR33 0EQ)
- 14th May 2019, 5pm – 6.30pm at the East Suffolk House offices (Riduna Park, Station Road, Melton, Woodbridge IP12 1RT)
