East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.
Suffolk Coastal Port Health Authority is at the frontline of food safety, animal and public health control not only for the UK but also for the European Union. Your role within the Port Health team will be to take the lead in the design and delivery of a consistent and coherent technical architecture that meets the need of Port Health’s current and future operational and business strategy. You will provide expert advice by taking ownership of all aspects of the design of the technical architecture and roadmap which includes infrastructure, data, systems, security, in-house built software solutions, integrations and security with associated best practices and processes.
You will have a relevant degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Computer Science or Information Technology and extensive experience of designing and delivering complex, specifically built software solutions for a range of devices. You will also be a skilled communicator and leader who can be clear about the technology vision and bring it to life for key business stakeholders. A strategic approach will be essential, as well as the confidence and credibility to communicate, influence and constructively challenge people at all levels whilst promoting a positive working environment.
In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development and we’ll give you all the support we can during your time with us. There’s also a superb benefits package including flexible working options and purpose-built, brand new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.
