East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.
Are you looking for a new challenge? Would you like to pursue that challenge on the beautiful East Coast of England? We want to offer this opportunity to a motivated and enthusiastic professional, who will join our team to help us deliver improvements in the North Lowestoft Heritage Action Zone (HAZ). As part of a multidisciplinary team you will be engaged in improving housing conditions in an area of significant deprivation. Supported by a renovation grant policy and a robust enforcement protocol you will be able to tackle some of the health inequalities and poor housing conditions in this area.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Environmental Health Practitioner to join our team of motivated and enthusiastic officers. Whilst this role will be primarily focussed in the HAZ there will be opportunities to support the team in other areas of work and vice versa.
Based in Lowestoft in modern, open plan offices but with a flexible policy around mobile working.
Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in private sector housing, be a self starter with excellent working knowledge of housing legislation and a degree (or equivalent) in an Environmental Health related subject. A full UK driving licence is also essential.
In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development and we’ll give you all the support we can to build a great career with our organisation. There’s also a superb benefits package including generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.
Please read the job description and person specification before applying for this job.
