We require a Finance Business Partner who is confident, flexible and highly motivated to join our busy Finance Team.
We are a friendly, supportive team that works cohesively on challenges and continually looks for opportunities. The finance team supports the councils by providing accurate and timely financial advice to enable delivery of the strategic plan outcomes as well as statutory and transactional responsibilities.
This role reports directly to the Senior Finance Business Partner and will be partnering the services in all areas of finance, including monitoring performance, forecasting, budgeting, and offering advice and challenge on projects as well as involvement in the statement of accounts preparation and systems development.
You will have the ability to work in a financial environment, have excellent customer skills and initiative as well as a flexible approach with a keenness to learn. A knowledge or understanding of local government is desirable, but not essential. Studying towards a finance qualification such as AAT would also be desirable, but not essential.
Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are committed to agile and flexible working practices (subject to business need). We believe that work is something we do and not somewhere we go; we want our staff to feel enabled and empowered to fully embrace these opportunities. We can offer great opportunities for training and development and we will give you all the support you need. We offer flexible working options, a generous leave entitlement, access to the Suffolk Green Travel Plan, discount scheme and a pension scheme.
For an informal discussion please contact Sharon Bayliss, Senior Finance Business Partner on (01473) 296316.
