37 hpw. Maternity cover, fixed term for 1 year.
Based in Lowestoft or Melton, near Woodbridge and will require working from either site as required.

Reporting to the Finance Manager (Financial Planning) for both councils, we are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Senior Accountant with a sound financial background to join our team and deliver high quality financial services. You will have a proven track record of Financial Management experience gained within a similar operational role either within the private or public sector.
You will provide Financial Management support to a variety of services across Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils; supporting the development and delivery of the Councils' Medium Term Financial Plans and help with the annual budget setting process. Also key to your work will be financial monitoring and reporting, providing timely and proactive management information to Corporate Management, members and services including our external partners.
Strong analytical skills, a logical approach to problem solving and an eye for detail are essential requirements for this role. Working with a range of contacts is a key aspect of the role so good communication, sound time management and excellent relationship management skills are essential to this role. You will be working with a team of finance professionals with a strong team ethic and drive to continuously improve the services it delivers. You will be a good team player with the drive to actively contribute to improving service delivery.
