This post is primarily based at the Woodbridge office and will provide the opportunity to work across the audit partnerships at Waveney District Council and Ipswich Borough Council.

Suffolk Coastal District Council and Waveney District Council are leading the way when it comes to working in partnership and are committed to improving the quality of life for everyone living in, working in and visiting east Suffolk. Our councils are an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people's lives.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and committed Senior Internal Auditor to participate in the development of a forward thinking and professional Internal Audit service, working within a partnership environment.

Your responsibilities will include undertaking audit assignments, IT audits and projects at a senior level and supervising junior officers carrying out a range of audit assignments covering all aspects of the councils' operations.

You will be IIA / AAT qualified / part-qualified or equivalent with a proven track record in delivering internal audit services at a senior level. Working with minimal supervision and using your own initiative, you should also be able to communicate complex information effectively and have the ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships.

In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development, especially in IT auditing. An IT auditing qualification package may be offered, following a successful probation period.

We want you to stay with us for the long-term, so we will give you all the support we can to build a great career with our organisation. There is also a superb benefits package including flexible working options and purpose built brand new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, pension scheme and free car parking.

If you are looking for the next step in your Audit career, why not apply for this exciting opportunity to join our successful modern Internal Audit Service.

For an informal discussion contact Lauren Ashdown, Audit Manager on (01473) 433902 or Siobhan Martin, Head of Internal Audit on (01394) 444254.
