Do you have a passion for preserving history, and a proven track record in growing audience engagement with archives and local studies materials? Can you deliver a sustainable service across a new heritage building, two branches, communities and online? If so we would love to hear from you.
You will be based at our wonderful new Suffolk Archives facility, The Hold, which is located close to the historic waterfront in Ipswich and the University of Suffolk with whom we share a great working relationship.
Our Operations Manager will have:
- a relevant professional qualification – Postgraduate Diploma/Masters Degree in Archives Administration or equivalent specialist knowledge and experience supported by a management level qualification
- the knowledge and skills to evaluate, plan and prioritise, the best use of resources to deliver effective collections management, exhibitions, activities, and events, working positively with key funders and partners
- excellent customer care skills, proven ability to develop staff and volunteers and apply creative thinking to deliver enhanced services physically or online.
This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.
