If you have the spirit to inspire young people to a love of sport and a healthy lifestyle, come and join a like-minded PE team.

GCSE Physical Education results have been excellent over the last few years. In 2018 70% of students achieved a grade 5 or better and 36% achieving a grade 7 or above.

We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to teach Physical Education across the age and ability range and support our quest for excellence through innovative and creative teaching and learning. You will be passionate about teaching sport and games, committed to motivating students to reach their full potential, supporting an extra-curricular programme and will contribute to our whole school development and the raising of standards.

Due to the size of the school it may be that the appointed teacher would need to be able to offer a second subject at KS3.

This post is fixed term due to our current staffing plan and we would plan to make a permanent appointment in the future, possibly at full time or increased hours.

This post would be suitable for a new entrant to the profession or a colleague seeking to broaden their experience. Claydon High School, in liaison with local providers, provide an excellent support programme for newly appointed staff. NQTs will be paid for working in July if they are available to come into school at the end of the summer term; we would ensure an entrant to teaching would be supported in their professional development. We pride ourselves on our positive hardworking ethos and collegiate atmosphere.

Claydon High School is a popular mixed comprehensive school on the outskirts of Ipswich, easily accessed from the A12 and A14.
