Required from Autumn term 2020.
Fixed term contract for the Academic year 2020 / 2021 with the potential to extend.
32.5 hpw, 38 weeks per year, term time only.
Our popular infant and junior schools, based on separate sites, have been successfully collaborating for around 12 years and in a Federation for 4 years.
We are seeking to appoint a cover supervisor / higher level teaching assistant who will form positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents and uphold the strong, caring ethos and inclusive environment of both schools.
Whilst an HLTA qualification is desirable it is not essential and we would welcome applications from experienced teaching assistants that possess the confidence and skills to teach whole classes.
The role involves teaching classes from nursery to year 6 during staff planning, preparation and assessment time and periods of short term absence, and providing support in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils by working with individuals or groups of pupils when whole class cover is not required.
Although technically two schools, we work on a 'one school two sites' principle and are eager to find someone who can demonstrate real enthusiasm and a flexible and adaptable approach to their work. The person appointed must also be committed to supporting children in enjoying their learning and achieving. They will need to be good communicators with very good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills. Minimum requirements are 5 A*- C with English and mathematics.
The post is based across both Fairfield Infant and Colneis Junior School (contracts are issued across the Federation of Fairfield Infant and Colneis Junior. Staff appointed to either of the schools may be required on a temporary or permanent basis, to carry out part of or the whole of their duties at either or both schools).
In these uncertain times it may be difficult to arrange an informal visit to our schools. We are, however, more than happy to have an informal discussion over the phone or through video conferencing facilities.

Interview date: w/c 8 June 2020.
Our schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff to share this commitment. The post is subject to satisfactory references, health check and an enhanced DBS check.
