Required from September 2020, a passionate Speech and Language Support Assistant, who will use exciting and innovative approaches to learning, both on a 1:1 and group basis.
Castle Hill Infant and Junior Schools are established primary schools based in Ipswich. Castle Hill is a vibrant school within Asset Education that is developing a curriculum relevant for the 21st century. Over the last two years, the academy has undergone a significant transformation with a learning community grounded in our core framework. In addition, we place great emphasis on developing children’s character, using our Learning Knights, in order to prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead in both their education and life by working with Pivotal Education and Trauma Informed Schools UK.
You will need to be flexible and confident to support children with language difficulties across KS2, including those who have additional / SEN needs and are new to English (EAL).
We are looking for:
- ability to engage with children
- desire to support children to progress
- good communication skills
- ability to take direction
- patience and empathy
- good organisational skills.
Speech training (i.e. ELKLAN) an advantage or willingness to complete necessary training but support is available from county SALT team and experienced KS1 S and LTA.
