Sybil Andrews Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and conscientious caretaker to join our growing team.

You will ideally have basic qualifications in building, plumbing and electrical work.

You will be a good team member and self-motivated, able to work on their own initiative.

Our caretakers plays a key role in ensuring that the physical environment is a place where our students feel safe, comfortable and ready to learn.

You will have a good basic knowledge of building maintenance, together with patience, resilience and a genuine wish to make a difference to the life of the school.

Main responsibilities include:

  • ensuring the security of the building at the end of the school day
  • regular health and safety checks
  • other site maintenance and caretaking tasks
  • minor repairs
  • regular grounds maintenance (Summer months)
  • a requirement to unlock and lock up for lettings, so flexibility is essential.

This is a physically demanding role and does require a child-friendly approach.

The post is a full time shift pattern (hours to be negotiated), which will include weekends and evenings on a rota basis.
