We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our vibrant and driven Learning Support Team.

Much of the work will involve support within mainstream classrooms, but you will also be expected to work with students on an individual or small group basis to develop literacy and numeracy, and for some of the time with students with complex physical needs who require 1:1 support.

An ability to empathise with students who have difficulties with communication and social skills is essential.

You should possess a good standard of education, initiative and have the ability to communicate well with both teaching staff and students. GCSE grade C, or equivalent, in mathematics and English is essential and A levels (or equivalent) are desirable. Experience of working in a classroom environment is also desirable.

Farlingaye High school is a popular and successful 11 – 18 school located in Woodbridge, a pleasant market town situated on the River Deben in Suffolk, just 7 miles from Ipswich. We are a creative school with excellent resources, lovely students and great results.

We are part of East Anglian Schools Trust (EAST) alongside Kesgrave High School and Bungay High School. We are a Leading-Edge school and have been graded ‘Outstanding’ in our last two OFSTED reports. We were awarded Teaching School status in 2011. We are committed to developing and promoting our staff and have excellent CPD and support programme for new staff.

Should you wish to discuss the job role in further detail, please contact Julie Moore, SENCo or Linda Marsh, HR Manager on (01394) 385720 or email: lmarsh@farlingaye.suffolk.sch.uk

Please note only applications submitted via the school's online recruitment process will be considered.
