Saxmundham Free School is a maintained school set up in 2012 by teachers, families, the Seckford Foundation and other members of the community who were determined to make a positive difference to the educational landscape.

We continue to exhibit that determination in all that we do. Teaching Years 7-11, we are a small growing school and are ambitious for our students. We see each individual as unique with their own strengths and needs.

Saxmundham is a confident and happy place. Our students receive excellent pastoral care and support in a small school setting. Our staff members know each of their students as individuals. We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our experienced pastoral team to provide support to students and their parents.

Working with the Pastoral Support Officer, you will promote and improve student wellbeing, behaviour and attendance, and punctuality, thereby contributing to providing a high level of pastoral care that supports student progress and attainment.

While previous pastoral experience will be an advantage, we would welcome applications from candidates who are capable of dealing with sensitive and confidential issues, and who have the ability to relate to young people, parents and staff.

We encourage visits to our school. To arrange a visit during the school day, please call (01728) 633910.

For more information about the school and to download an application pack, please visit: www.sffst.org.uk/jobs

Please return your completed application form and a formal letter of application to: hr@seckford-foundation.org.uk or by post to the HR Department, Marryott House, Burkitt Road, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP12 4JJ.

We reserve the right to appoint prior to the closing date, so please submit your application early to avoid disappointment.

The Seckford Education Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
