31.5 hpw, 39 weeks per year, Monday - Friday, 8.45am - 3.15pm.
Plus 1 hour for mandatory staff training each week (Monday 3.15pm - 4.15pm) and half hour each week for class team meeting (Thursday 3.15pm - 3.45pm).
We require Teaching Assistants to work in our provisions for pupils with more challenging behaviours.
We have an approach based upon SCERTS that uses a therapeutic approach to teaching children to self-regulate themselves. Pupils can display significant levels of challenging behaviour and we use a very intensive support programme to develop alternative communication strategies to reduce those behaviours that restrict their social interaction. As part of a team you will need to be creative as well as resilient with a significant sense of fun. Play is an important part of the therapeutic approach.
