Suffolk needs someone with ambition, drive and tenacity to deliver major change and inclusive growth that will benefit our communities. Is that you?

Reporting directly to the new Chief Executive, this newly created role will support elected Members to set the strategic direction of the council to address the significant opportunities and challenges that Suffolk will face in the coming years.

We’re looking for someone with proven experience of balancing strategic leadership with operational delivery to join our Corporate Leadership Team. This role is unique and requires a highly skilled senior leader who can maximise the impact of our strong working relationships and joint vision across a range of partners, locally and nationally, to gain the best outcomes for Suffolk.

The role is accountable for the delivery of major infrastructure projects and the capital programme, housing strategy, strategic transport, operational highways, passenger transport, waste, planning and environment services, alongside driving Suffolk’s focus on growing our
economy in a way that benefits everyone.

You will be an experienced senior leader who is politically astute and able to deliver our vision to make Suffolk an even greater place to live, work and visit.

For an informal discussion, please contact Nicola Beach, Chief Executive on (01473) 264002.

Please read the Recruitment Brochure for further information and how to apply for this post.

This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS checks or police vetting will be required for relevant posts. Suffolk County Council - welcoming diversity.
