We are looking for an experienced social work professional with a passion for service improvement to ultimately help people who access our Children and Young People's (CYP) Services.

You will support and advise social workers and practitioners on quality practice, providing professional support and guidance on social work practice.

To do this role, you will need an understanding of a wide range of professional roles and disciplines that contribute to the protection and wellbeing of service users, their families and communities. You will also have a comprehensive understanding of standards, legislation guidance and national policy.

In this role, you will:

  • work as part of a well-established team, building on a 'Good' Ofsted rating
  • play a key role in practice development in relation to children in care and care leavers
  • lead on supporting practice through use of research
  • communicate and engage with a variety of audiences
  • ensure service quality and performance
  • accurately report and record
  • manage resources and projects
  • embed effective practice
  • promote multi-agency and partnership working
  • manage risk and safeguarding.

You will need a relevant Social Work qualification and HCPC registration; plus evidence of continuing professional development.

You will also develop guidance to further embed the Suffolk Signs of Safety practice framework and using audit and research as part of a learning and improvement culture within Children’s Services and play a key role in practice development in relation to children in care and care leavers and will lead on supporting practice through use of research.

The job requires travel, so you must be willing and able to travel across Suffolk.
