Exciting opportunities for graduates to train for a career in Social Work
Are you a graduate or expecting to graduate, with a good degree and interested in training for a career in social work? (a 2:1 degree completed in the last six years -2:2 grade may be considered if experience is substantial and relevant).
Excited by the thought of professional education at MA level in a top-rated University Department?
Do you have some experience of working in a helping role but need to add to it before training?
If so, then apply for a place on the Graduate Trainee Scheme organised by the University of East Anglia in conjunction with Suffolk County Council.
You will be offered a paid pre-qualified graduate trainee post with the County Council for 12 months from September 2020. Subject to satisfactory performance in this work, you will be offered a place on UEA's MA in Social Work programme in September 2021.
You will be able to apply for an NHS Bursary to help meet part of the cost of fees and living expenses. In addition, Suffolk County Council will provide a retainer of £6,200 for each year of the MA.
You will need to sign a retainer, as an agreement between SCC and yourself, that you will return to work in one of our frontline social care teams for a minimum of 2 years on successful completion of the course and successful job interview. Please note there are no guarantees of receiving a Bursary and it will be the applicant's responsibility to cover any shortfall of the university fees to UEA from the Bursary amount awarded.
To discuss the programme, please contact Inge Nijkamp, Workforce Development Advisor on (01473) 260464 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
