Develop our Finance Business Partnering service

Role Snapshot…

Are you a qualified CCAB accountant, with the drive and ambition to help shape our joint finance team? Then read on...

What you could be part of…

A joint finance team delivering high quality financial support to both Broadland District Council and South Norfolk Council. Both Councils are ambitious, and are looking to reimagine how local authorities deliver best in class services.

Working at the Councils will enable you to be part of a one team approach which is proud to deliver high-quality, customer focussed services. Our success comes from us being commercially astute and business-like. Continuous improvement is also vital, and our employees challenge themselves to develop new and innovative ways to improve the services that make a real difference to people’s lives.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Leading the Finance Business Partner team of 4 staff, providing timely and accurate budgetary information, with a commercially focused approach.
  • Producing the annual budgets and medium-term financial strategies.
  • Producing financial information for corporate wide business cases and strategic projects.
  • Acting as Deputy S151 Officer, and providing cover for the Assistant Director of Finance.

You must have…

You will be a qualified CCAB accountant, ideally with post qualification experience in local government. You will be good with the detail, but be able to see the big picture and effectively engage your team in achieving their goals. So, if you have excellent supervisory/management skills we would like to hear from you.

What’s in it for you…

Our package includes a career average pension scheme, 25 days holiday increasing to 28 days after 5 years plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time employees), flexible working, on site cafés, compassionate leave and sickness entitlement for times of need.  You will have regular reviews with your line manager and develop a personal development plan, and opportunities to undertake training.  We also support staff to participate in volunteering days in the community and encourage them to be involved with fun activities to raise money for local and national charities.

For an informal conversation about the role, please contact Rodney Fincham on 01508 533982.
