Are you a committed individual who wants to join our efficient, experienced and friendly team?

Role snapshot…How do you fancy coming to work for an organisation that has a diverse range of commercial premises and dealing with challenging situations?

What you could be part of…

South Norfolk is not your average district council. With big ambitions and a real desire to grow, we are continually looking for innovative ways to exceed our customers' expectations. Our success is a reflection of our people, so being a great organisation depends on us having great people.

We are recruiting for an experienced Licensing and Enforcement Officer to provide cover for a period of maternity leave. You will be working across the district to carry out a range of enforcement duties including investigating complaints, gathering evidence and preparing and presenting cases for prosecutions.

What you’ll be doing…

You will need experience of undertaking routine programmes of inspections for licensed premises as well as being part of joint enforcement initiatives with other agencies.   You will need to have brilliant negotiating skills and be able to work closely with our partners in other agencies.

You must have…

Licensing experience within Local Government or equivalent experience within this setting.  As a self-starter you will be able to plan your workload efficiently, maintaining appropriate records and work flexibly to meet with the requirements of the service.  With excellent customer service we are continually looking to improve our customer service.  It is really important to us that our employees continue to challenge themselves to develop new and innovative ways of working that make a real difference to people’s lives.

What’s in it for you…

Our package includes employer pension contributions of 15%, performance related pay up to 4%, 23 days holiday increasing to 28 days after 5 years plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time employees), flexi time, on site café, compassionate leave and sickness entitlement for times of need.  As a Platinum Investors in People you will have regular reviews with your line manager and a personal development plan. We also support towards volunteering days in the community and encourage staff to be involved with fun activities to raise money for local and national charities.

You may still have questions and can contact Rebecca Broadbelt, Environmental Health Manager on (01508) 535326 to answer these for you.
