In May 2017, Newmarket Academy was rated 'Good' by Ofsted. We invite you to join us as we move this 'Good' school to 'Excellence'.
The core aims/values of this school are:
- making a difference to the lives of young people
- being a great place to work where colleagues are valued, supported, and encouraged to grow
- a school which seeks to challenge itself
- a school which embraces creativity, innovation and change driven by all colleagues.
We want to be the best school in the area. We are looking to recruit an ambitious and innovative colleague to play a major role in that journey. We are a key member of the Unity Schools Partnership which celebrates professional development and career development. The teaching school and an active talent management programme will support you in this post and in your future career within the trust and beyond if necessary.
Our community believes in our vision and supports our journey. In the autumn of 2019, the school completed a multi-million-pound refurbishment project sponsored by the generosity of the local community. Every classroom now has state of the art interactive whiteboards and sound systems. The refurbishment has provided the school with brand new computers for staff and students, a new library with over 20,000 books in a state-of-the-art building with a superb new SEND area, Engineering department, audio-visual equipment, and tennis courts.
We are looking for a creative, innovative, and enthusiastic practitioner to join our Technology/Engineering team. Our newly refurbished engineering area contains state of the art machinery, a forge and computer room. We want you to share our passion for teaching and learning, someone who is keen to motivate and challenge our students and our colleagues. The role would be perfect for an applicant looking for an entry into teaching and or a chance to build a portfolio of experiences. We currently follow BTEC Tech Award in Engineering. We have recently received a full refurbishment providing excellent facilities in which to teach secondary machining techniques and modern production methods, including rapid prototyping. We are keen for you to contribute to the future growth of the department regarding delivery of mechanical engineering techniques, welding, and forge work. The ability to offer a second subject would be valued but is not required.
Our Technology/Engineering team is an incredibly supportive team of professionals who are supported by an excellent leadership team, who draw on the wider trust for additional support, professional development, and career progression opportunities.
The academy offers:
- well-being day each year.
- opportunity for career progression into senior leadership.
- professional development qualifications.
- access to the training and professional development programmes of the teaching and research schools in the trust.
